Code of Conduct
Last updated May 25, 2026
NARL is a competitive Rocket League circuit, and the matches we run are only as good as the community behind them. This Code of Conduct describes the behavior we expect from every player, captain, coach, caster, observer, and volunteer who takes part in NARL. It applies everywhere league activity happens — in lobbies, on broadcasts, in the NARL Discord, and in public posts that reference the league.
This Code is modeled on the standards used by top-level competitive Rocket League circuits and is enforced by NARL admins. Participation in NARL is a privilege; we may remove anyone from an event, a season, or the league for conduct that violates this document, even if the specific behavior is not listed below.
Respect and sportsmanship
Treat opponents, teammates, admins, casters, and viewers with respect. Win without gloating, lose without blaming. Shake the GG even after a bad match.
Discrimination, harassment, threats, or hate speech targeting a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any similar characteristic is not tolerated. This applies to text, voice, emotes, names, logos, and stream overlays.
Personal attacks, sustained insults, slurs, sexual harassment, doxxing, and targeted pile-ons against community members are all prohibited — including when directed at people outside NARL.
Communication standards
Keep in-match communication focused on the game. Casual trash talk between friendly opponents is fine; targeted harassment of an opponent, an admin, or a caster is not. The same standard applies in public chat, in our Discord, on stream chat, and in social posts that reference NARL or its participants.
Captains are expected to set the tone for their team. A team whose members repeatedly violate this Code may face penalties at the team level, not only against the individual offender.
Competitive integrity
Win the game you are playing, not the bracket around it. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Cheating & exploits. Using cheats, hacks, third-party assist software, server exploits, or any in-game bug that produces an unfair advantage.
- Account fraud.Smurfing, ringing, ghosting, account-sharing, account-boosting, or competing under another person's identity.
- Match fixing. Intentionally losing, conceding rounds, or arranging the outcome of a match for any reason, including seeding or bracket placement.
- Collusion. Coordinating with members of another team to manipulate results, share information, or split prizes.
- Betting. Placing or facilitating bets on any NARL match in which you, your team, or a team you coach is participating.
- Falsifying evidence. Editing or fabricating replays, screenshots, scores, or chat logs submitted to admins.
- Ringing for ineligible players.Allowing a non-rostered player to compete under a rostered player's account or name.
In-match conduct
Be on time and ready for scheduled matches. If you encounter a technical issue, pause the game where the rules allow and notify an admin promptly. Do not exploit a pause to gain rest, scout, or coach mid-game beyond what is permitted by event rules.
Report results honestly and promptly. Submit any required replays and screenshots as instructed. Disagreements about scores or rulings go to an admin — not to public chat or social media.
Broadcast and media
Players in broadcast matches are expected to keep their stream, webcam, voice comms, and name tags appropriate for an all-ages audience. Do not display or wear content that violates this Code, that promotes another organization without permission, or that infringes a third party's rights.
When NARL broadcasts your match, you grant the league the right to record, stream, archive, and use clips and statistics from that match in coverage of the league. See our Terms of Service for details.
Cooperating with admins
When an admin contacts you about a rules question, a dispute, or an integrity review, you are expected to respond truthfully and promptly. Provide replays, screenshots, and chat logs when asked. Knowingly lying to an admin, deleting requested evidence, or obstructing an investigation is itself a violation of this Code.
Disputes with admins go through the appeals path described for the event, not through public callouts or harassment campaigns.
Conduct outside the game
Real-world threats, stalking, harassment, sharing of private information without consent, and serious off-platform misconduct directed at members of the NARL community may be grounds for removal from the league, regardless of where the conduct occurred.
Sponsored content, partnerships, and political endorsements made through your NARL identity should not imply that NARL itself endorses them.
Reporting a violation
If you witness or experience behavior that violates this Code, report it to NARL admins through the NARL Discord or by email at playnarl262@gmail.com. Reports are reviewed in good faith. Retaliation against someone who makes a good-faith report is itself a violation.
When reporting, please include: the match or event, the people involved, what you observed, the approximate time, and any evidence you have (clips, replays, screenshots).
Enforcement
Admins may apply any of the following penalties, taking into account the severity of the violation and the offender's history:
- A formal warning.
- Forfeit of the affected game, series, or match.
- Removal from the current event, with or without forfeit of any prize.
- Suspension from one or more upcoming seasons or tournaments.
- A permanent ban from NARL and removal of associated accounts.
Penalties may be applied to individual players, to entire teams, or to organizations that field teams in NARL. Where appropriate and where local law permits, we may share enforcement information with other competitive Rocket League organizers.
Changes to this Code
We may update this Code from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued participation in NARL after a change means you accept the updated Code.
